All about Agreements between emploi and employer

A collective convention is an agreement on the working conditions and the guarantees social, signed between the employee representatives and the employers' organizations.
A convention results from the negotiation between the trade unions from paid and employers. It can be signed: on the level of the company: convention concerns only the employees of this company, on the level of a professional branch: for example, retail trade, journalists..., at the departmental level, regional or national. A collective agreement comprises a basic text, as well as endorsements (of the agreements or appendices signed at the time of later negotiations). Complete convention and provisions of the Fair labor standards act: it sets up advantages not envisaged by the Fair labor standards act (minimal wages, additional vacation...) it organizes particular rules (until there non-existent) with a branch of industry or the company. The collective agreement has the force of law, if it were signed by an employer member of the employers' federation. The employer can voluntarily decide to make it apply. Obligations of the employer The employer must make known the existence of a collective agreement. A specimen of the text must be given to the work's council, with the union representatives of the personnel, and the employer must hold one of them at the disposal of the employees.

How to find a maximum of information on the collective agreements? One finds many information on Internet, but they are scattered on many sites which, very often, are not up to date. Here one very informative site, www.convention-collective-fr.com is a complete data base of the collective agreements consults and downloads on line your collective agreement.
